The company name must be unique and approved by the Maldives Registrar of Companies. A proposed company name should be submitted for approval through the Ministry of Economic Development (MED) before proceeding with registration.

The next essential requirement is the submission of a set of documents, including the company’s Memorandum and Articles of Association, which define the company's purpose, internal structure, and operating rules. You must also provide a list of shareholders, directors, and the company secretary. At least one shareholder is required, and the director(s) must be at least 18 years old.

The company must have a registered office in the Maldives, which will be its official address for communication. Additionally, the company must deposit its minimum share capital, the amount of which may vary depending on the business type.

Once all documentation is prepared, it is submitted to the Ministry of Economic Development, along with the required registration fee. After approval, the company is officially registered and issued a Certificate of Incorporation.
